This change has been done such a way that the same API can be used in both an asynchronous and a synchronous fashion. The way that it operates is dependent on how you use the call.
If your code relies on a return value from the call then it will behave synchronously. For example, the following now works…
var contentBody = editliveObject.getBody(true);
This uses the synchronous return value of the getBody call (after it's uploaded images - denoted by the "true" argument) to populate the variable "contentBody".
